MHS is now accepting applications for the student member of the MCPS school board.
Applications may be picked up in the counseling office. The process for selecting the student member of Middlesex County Public Schools School Board shall be as follows:
● All students interested in candidacy must be a current junior or senior at Middlesex High School and must have a 3.0 or higher grade point average from the preceding quarter. Each interested applicant must complete and submit the nomination packet to the MHS counseling office by September 2, 2024.
● All students who have submitted a completed application packet by September 2, 2024 will be interviewed by a panel at MHS. After the interview process, the selection will be made.

There is still time for seniors to turn in their design to Mrs. Fleet if they want to paint their parking spot this year. The deadline has been extended to August 8, 2024. Just email your design to Mrs. Fleet for approval. The email address is: sfleet@mcps.k12.va.us

Cheer - 1st day of tryouts - Tuesday, 8/6/24 from 6:30 to 8:00 PM in the MHS cafeteria
2nd day of tryouts - Wednesday, 8/7/24 from 10:00 to 11:30 AM in the MHS cafeteria
3rd and final tryout - Thursday, 8/8/24 from 10:00 to 11:30 in the MHS cafeteria
Cross Country - Monday, 8/5/24 from 6:00 to 7:00 PM at MHS
Football - Thursday, 8/1/24 from 7:00 to 8:30 PM at MHS and Monday through Thursday each week from 7:00 to 8:30 PM at MHS until school starts
Golf - Monday through Thursday each week at 4:00 PM at Piankatank River Golf Course
Volleyball - Monday, 8/5/24 from 4:00 to 6:30 PM in the MHS gym
Drumline camp runs this week, Tuesday, 7/30/24 through Thursday, 8/1/24 from 8:00 AM until 1:00 PM each day. Band camp starts next week, Monday, 8/5/24 through Thursday, 8/8/24 from 2:00 PM until 7:00 PM each day. Make sure to bring water and snacks.
Good morning. If your student has been taking an online class through Edgenuity , all classes will be closed as of 8/9/24. This is for summer online classes and classes that started during the previous school year that have not been completed.
Cross Country will have workouts at MHS on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00 to 7:00 PM.
Golf will start on July 29 at 4:00 PM at Piankatank Golf Course.

The senior formal photo is important. It marks a landmark in your life, and is also needed for the yearbook, ID card, PowerSchool, etc. It can either be taken at our studio in Kilmarnock, or at the high school on picture day. We have everything needed for the formal photo, tuxedos to fit any size guy, complete with shirts and bowties, as well as black drapes for the ladies complimented with a selection of necklaces.
School picture day is 9/4/24. We also take these photos for free at our studio until October 1st. (afterwards a $25 fee applies)

Football conditioning for June will be held Tuesdays and Thursday from 6:30 to 8:00 PM. 8th through 12th graders are invited.
The tickets for the softball game at Buffalo Gap High School will be presale and debit or credit card only. There will be no cash box at the gate. The game starts at 3:00 PM. Here is the ticket link:
