As of the 24-25 school year, the Virginia Department of Education will begin sharing student directory data with the armed forces for military recruiting purposes. This data will include student name, student phone number, and student personal email address.
You may choose to share your student's personal information or opt out of sharing the information. Either way, please complete the form (link below) for all 11th and 12th grade students. If you have multiple students in 11th and 12th grade, a form must be completed for each student. Families who do not complete this form will automatically have their information provided for military recruiting purposes.

Students toured Bridging Communities this week to learn about programs of interest for next year. Geometry students creatively proved the Pythagorean Theorem using cheese its.

The Senior Night for winter sports will be held on February 13th during the basketball games at Middlesex High School. There are three basketball games on this night, and we will announce the seniors between the varsity girls' game and the varsity boys' game. Seniors and their escorts will line up at 6:30 PM.
The student government association is hosting a winter semi formal dance on Saturday, 2/8/25 from 7:00 - 9:00 PM in the gym. Tickets are $5 each. Guest approval forms must be turned in by Wednesday, 2/5/25. Email or call Regina South, SGA sponsor, for more information.
Counselor Anne Baltrusaitis is hosting a meeting with juniors and their parents on Thursday, February 6th at 6:00 PM in the MHS Media Center to discuss the college application process and financial aid options. Please see the Counseling Canvas page for more information or contact Ms. B.

Senior pages for the yearbook are due by February 13th. Yearbook pre-orders are due by March 21st. Yearbooks are currently $65 and the price will increase to $70 in March. If you want to be guaranteed a yearbook, you must pre-order. The link is on the MHS website or reach out to Mrs. Chowning.
MHS has scheduled an administration of the SAT for juniors on Monday, March 10, 2025 at MHS. While most colleges are test optional for admissions, scores can be used to support applications and for scholarships and special programs (like Honors College). This test is ordered by the school and costs $68 payable to MHS through the Counseling office; fee waivers are available.
Please register for the test through the link on the Counseling Canvas page by Friday, January 24, 2025.
The Counseling Department is also holding a workshop about how to plan for next year's college admissions process on Thursday, February 6, 2025 at 6:00 PM for students and their families.
