MCPS - Mental Health Initiative

Middlesex County Public Schools is excited to announce a new resource to support student mental health for families, educators, caregivers, and others. ParentGuidance.org is a 24/7 online platform designed to assist those who care for children by addressing and enhancing mental health wellness and self-care. These tools strengthen the human connections vital for thriving school communities, aligning with our mission to provide a safe and supportive learning environment. Across the United States, ParentGuidance.org collaborates with schools and communities to empower families to support children's mental health needs.

Middlesex families now have free access to a variety of tools, including:

  • Regular one-on-one parent coaching with cognitive behavioral health coaches

  • On-demand parenting sessions taught by licensed therapists

  • “Ask a Therapist,” a frequently updated question-and-answer forum

These resources are immediately available to Middlesex families, ensuring that everyone has access to essential support regardless of financial means. ParentGuidance.org offers resources that many families in rural communities have not had before, making a significant difference in the lives of our children, the stability of our families, the mental health of teachers and school employees, and the progress of our schools.

“We are proud to collaborate with Middlesex County Public Schools for the benefit of their families. This shows that they truly care about the role of parents in their children's emotional well-being,” said Cook Center for Human Connection President and CEO Anne Brown. “By providing education, resources, and direct support to families, we look forward to helping the people who love and care for their children most: the parents.”
